The class year of 07-08 was a good year for the Erie Canal Cloggers. We had 26 active memberships. We learned 9 new clogging routines. We had 19 scheduled special events. We graduated and welcomed into our group (3) new members on August 20th. We spent (4) fun days performing at the NY State Fair with a total of 9 performances. We have our own .com web site. (www.eriecanalcloggers.com) And most exciting, the parish hall is AIR CONDITIONED! There are (3) window units in the parish hall. The Erie Canal Cloggers purchased a unit, and Christ Church purchased a unit. The cool air was very enjoyable as we rehearsed each week for our state fair performance. We are very proud and thankful to have each and every one of you as a member. Without you there would not be any Erie Canal Cloggers.
The 2008-2009 class year will resume on Tuesday evening, September 23rd for the Intermediate Level from 6:45pm – 8:15pm in the parish hall of Christ Episcopal Church. The Advance Level class will start on Tuesday, October 07th at 6:15pm – 6:45pm.
On the first night back to class we will hold our bi-monthly Open Meeting. If you have any thoughts or suggestions for the upcoming year please address them during this Open Meeting. The meeting is for each of you to discuss your thoughts. Dale & I thank the Lord every week for giving us our terrific dance studio. The wooden floors, two bathrooms, a huge kitchen for parties and a large storage room in the basement for our equipment. We are very blessed. In the beginning days of the Erie Canal Cloggers we danced on a cement floor, in a two car garage with a kerosene heater plastic stapled to the walls to keep the cold wind out. We have come a long way since those early days. The monthly active membership dues will continue to be $20.00 per month. The monthly dues are owed the 1st Tuesday of each month. Any dues paid after the 1st Tuesday of the month will be charged a $5.00 late charge. To be considered an “Active Member” you must attend weekly classes and the scheduled E.C.C. Special Events. Inactive members will pay $7.00 to attend weekly classes. Our rent and over all expenses have to be paid the 1st of each month. The only way we can pay the overhead expenses is from membership dues, donations received from performances at local venues and our fund raisers.
